The Predicted Russian Invasion of Ukraine

About The Vilna Gaon

In 1794, the greatest Talmudic scholar of his time wrote a prophecy that was hidden for 220 years. In 2014, after Russian troops invaded and annexed the Ukrainian territory of Crimea, the Vilna Gaon's great-great grandson revealed the contents in Jerusalem. "When you hear that the Russians have captured the city of Crimea, you should know that the Times of Messiah have started."

Rabbi Elijah ben Shlomo Zalman

Renowned as the Vilna Gaon -- or genius of Vilnius, Lithuania -- Rabbi Elijah ben Shlomo Zalman was a Torah prodigy from the age of seven. As a result of his great wisdom and his extraordinary comprehension of both Torah and secular knowledge, the often reclusive Gaon spent forty years writing voluminous corrective notes to the ancient texts of his people, particularly the Talmud. He was regarded as the most influential Jewish writer of his time. There was almost no ancient Torah text that did not bear his notes.

In 1794, at the age of 74, the Vilna Gaon received a vision - a visitation - in which was revealed a prophecy. The prophecy was written on a piece of parchment and hidden for 220 years. All the above is true.

The book, Ishmael Covenant, is the story of what happened when that prophecy was revealed.

The Gaon's Vision/Prophecy

During his "visit in heaven" the Vilna Gaon was given what is called a Messianic prophecy.

"Son of man, listen to my words and write them down for the days to come. When you hear that the Russians have captured the city of Crimea, you should know that the Times of Messiah have started, that his steps are being heard. And when you hear that the Russians have reached the city of Constantinople, you should put on your Shabbat clothes and not take them off, because it means that Messiah is about to come at any minute."

Over the generations, for 220 years, the Gaon's prophecy was hidden from the world and handed down from one rabbi to the next, from father to son. In 2014, when the Russians invaded and annexed Crimea, the Gaon's great-great-grandson revealed the prophecy to the world.

Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ was the prophesied Messiah, redeemer of sins and savior of the world. Judaism teaches that Messiah has not yet come. Now that Russia has used Crimea to launch part of its invasion of Ukraine, is the Jewish Messiah about to be revealed? Or, is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ about to descend upon this earth?
